Whispers on the Wind
(September 11 aftermath)

by Melissa Phillippe and Kayla Gold

It has been a challenging and full couple of weeks. I send love and light out to all of you, to all of us!

I found myself receiving many e-mails about the Sept. 11 events, a few of which were about revenge and how "they must pay". I was so disappointed in this and I so wanted to "teach them a better way to respond". This I was my initial reaction to reading them. I kept thinking, "NO! They don't get it! This is the same energy and someone has to be the first to say 'NO'"!

Then it occurred to me that the judgment I was reacting with is just that very same energy. The same resistance to someone else's experience, .....the same desire to be right and know that the way I believe is better, ..... the same underlying "us vs. them" mentality that I was supposedly resisting. The same response of closing down my heart to another human being out of reaction.

Then, of course, the very next opportunity was right there for me: to love myself even in this reaction. To see it, simply to observe and to be aware of "what is" in that moment, and to allow it to be. And to not close my heart down to myself as a reaction to my wish that I were being different!

This is, indeed, a rich time. Rich in emotion and rich in opportunity. Bless you in these days, and always. May this season bring you to a greater remembering and experience of the Truth of Your Divine Nature. May we all surrender to the All That Is more deeply as we open to what is, and all of our feelings about it. May we all become better at keeping our hearts open. Blessings and love to you. In Joy and in Peace.

Whispers on the Wind

Like a whisper on the wind
stronger with each voice joining in.
'Til it's louder than the guns of war.
And you'll hear peace thunder
like never before
as the whisper on the wind
becomes a roar.
----------------------------------
Head in hands she's screaming
and dropping to her knees.
Grieving for the son that she just lost.
And every mother feels it - and every father sees.
In every language far too big a cost.
But somewhere two soldiers face to face
say "No, we will (can) not kill".
And that takes all their courage
and that takes all their will!
----------------------------------
Like a whisper on the wind
stronger with each voice joining in.
'Til it's louder than the guns of war.
And you'll hear peace thunder
like never before
as the whisper on the wind
becomes a roar.
----------------------------------
You'll hear it from the doorway
behind you in the dark.
Echoed in the laughter of a child.
Waking up the secret that was sleeping in your heart
It started weak but now it's growing wild.
----------------------------------
Like a whisper on the wind
stronger with each voice joining in.
'Til it's louder than the guns of war.
And you'll hear peace thunder
like never before
as the whisper on the wind
becomes a roar.
